Ontario, California Airport, code ONT, is part of the Los Angeles World Airports System and serves major cities and is a by those cities connections to many international destinations.

ONT is located in the California "Inland Empire" and is about 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the center of Southern California. The airport is the centerpiece of one of the fastest-growing transportation regions in the United States. ONT's service area includes a population of six million people living in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties and portions of north Orange County and east Los Angeles County.

Passenger traffic at ONT has been increasing steadily for the past 10 years. In 2002, 6.5 million passengers used the airport and 547,461 tons of air freight were shipped.

Ontario has over 200 daily flights which provide service to every major city in the USA.

ONT's airlines include AeroMexico, Alaska, America West, American, Continental, Delta, jetBlue, Lineas Aereas Azteca, Northwest, Southwest, United, and United Express.

The "new" Ontario International Airport opened in 1998. This $270 million project includes two new terminals, a new ground transportation center, an additional parking lo, new roadway system, airfield improvements.

 The new terminals  can accommodate up to 10 million passengers a year.

ONT is also the center of a  freight movement system that includes the airport, two railroads, four major freeways, and freight forwarders. ONT is served by most of the major U.S. air freight carriers.  In December of 2005 this including Air Transport International, Airborne Express, Ameriflight, DHL, Empire Airways, Evergreen, Express Net, Federal Express, Kalitta Air, West Air, Union Flights, and United Parcel Service.

ONT is a member of the Los Angeles World Airports system and is located less than 50 miles from Los Angeles and Long Beach Harbors.
